Carpet Cleaning in Moultonborough, NH

Moultonborough Neck is one road down and the same road back, and Long Island hangs off the end of it over a bridge. We schedule this side of town in runs, so the truck isn’t making that drive twice in a week.

Carpet Cleaning in Moultonborough

Moultonborough has more shoreline than any town in New Hampshire — eighty-nine linear miles by the town’s own count, which sounds like a brag until you’re the one driving it. Moultonborough Bay alone reaches eight miles up into the middle of town. The Neck is a peninsula with a single road down it, and at the end of that road a bridge crosses to Long Island, the biggest island on Winnipesaukee. Everything out there is a spur off a spur.

That shapes the work more than the carpet does. Route 25 carries somewhere between eleven and fourteen thousand vehicles a day through the Village; Neck Road carries about half that, and then it thins down to driveways. Suissevale, Lees Mill, the roads hanging off 109 — all strung out. A truck that goes down there for one bedroom has spent most of a morning on the drive.

So we run this side of town in blocks. If your neighbor has been meaning to get theirs done, say so — we’d rather do four houses on one Tuesday than four separate Tuesdays. And what’s actually in the carpet out here is mostly what the road and the shore put there: grit off a long gravel drive, sand thrown up in April, and the fine pale stuff that comes off a beach and never quite vacuums out.

Moultonborough Tip

If you’re out on the Neck or over on Long Island, ask around before you book. Two or three houses on the same road in one trip is easier on everybody, and it’s how we’d rather schedule it anyway.

What It Takes to Clean a House at the End of the Road

The machine stays on the truck and the hose comes to the house. On an ordinary driveway that’s nothing to think about. On a long Neck drive with a turn we can’t make, it means parking where we can and running line — fine, we carry plenty of it, but it’s worth knowing before we’re standing in your yard at eight in the morning wondering. Tell us what the drive is like when you book. A photo says more than a description does.

Then it’s the ordinary work done properly. Vacuum first and vacuum thoroughly, because dry grit is what cuts the pile down and no amount of hot water later fixes carpet that has already been sanded. Pre-spray the lanes and the spots, agitate by hand, give the chemistry time to actually work instead of rushing it. Then hot-water extraction, groomed out, with air moving behind us. Damp when we leave. Not soaked.

Long Island is its own scheduling problem and we’ll be straight with you about it. The bridge is fine and the driving is fine, but it is a long way from anywhere, so we book it deliberately rather than squeezing it into a gap. If you want a particular week in July, call us in June.

Most whole-home cleanings run $150–$350 depending on rooms, stairs, and how hard the traffic lanes have been used. Single rooms start around $45. Same numbers at the end of the Neck as in the Village — you get the flat price before we pull the hose off the reel.

Common Questions

Do you actually come out to Long Island?

Yes — over the bridge from the Neck, same as anywhere else we go. It’s a long way from the Village, so we treat it as a planned trip rather than a fill-in, and we ask for more notice on the date than we would elsewhere. If you want a particular week in July, call in June and it’s easy.

My driveway is long and narrow. Is that a problem?

Not usually. We run hose from wherever the truck can sit safely and we carry a good length of it. What we’d rather not do is discover the turn while we’re already halfway into it. Send a photo of the drive when you book and we’ll plan the approach before we leave the shop.

Can you do my house and the neighbors on the same day?

That’s the ideal out here, honestly. The roads down the Neck are strung out and the driving eats the day, so a block of houses on one road is better use of everyone’s time. Coordinate with the neighbors, send us the list, and we’ll set the whole thing up as one run.

What is actually in the carpet out here?

Grit, mostly. A gravel drive holds it, a shore road throws it, and the beach sends the fine pale stuff home in towels and on bare feet. It works its way down to the base of the pile where a household vacuum can’t reach, and it’s abrasive, so it does real damage just sitting there.

Do you charge extra for the drive?

No. The price is the price whether you’re on Route 25 or at the far end of Long Island. What the distance changes is scheduling, not the number — which is exactly why we ask for a bit more notice and try to pair up trips. You still get a flat figure before we start.
